Ayurveda is good for anyone looking to develop a deeper experience of wholeness, healing and happiness. At it's basis, Ayurveda is a lifestyle that emphasis alignment with the cycles of nature. In it's more complex state, Ayurveda is a medical system used to treat disease.
One of the most beautiful and unique aspects of Ayurveda is the level of self-responsibility it encourages and deems possible. Through the learning of some basic and easy to manage tools, it is possible to artfully apply balance in our mind and body. Ayurveda explains the relationship certain foods can have on the quality of our thoughts, as well as environmental shifts on our body, and even how our intentions can directly effect the outcome of our goals.Ayurveda is truly a practice of self-inquiry. Ayurvedic tools such as diet, body-work,yoga, and herbs are used to optimize inner contentment and balance. Massage Therapist & Yoga Teacher
Laurel’s lifelong passion for wellness and desire to study massage therapy quickly became a mandate after she began working with the vibrational healing effects of crystals. She sensed early on that massage therapy was the perfect base upon which to layer energetic healing modalities. While enrolled at the Chicago School of Massage Therapy, Laurel received the Reiki Master attunement and immediately began incorporating this energy healing, as well as crystals, into her treatments.
A profound resonance with yoga led her to become a certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, through Shakta Kaur at Kundalini in the Loop. Her personal yoga practice better enabled her to create a healing space for clients and offer instruction, when appropriate, on various meditation and pranayama techniques for stress-relief, balance, clarity, and other personal needs.
Seeking a clinical element to balance the spirituality of her work, she studied Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy with Sharon Sauer and Mary Biancalana at the Myo Pain Relief Center. This highly revelatory science expanded her scope to offer long-lasting pain relief and education to clients.
Her holistic education continued by studying Iridology at the School of Natural Medicine with Farida Sharan, Thai Massage Therapy with Paul Fowler and Paul Weitz at the Chicago School of Thai Massage, and Ayurveda with Vaidya Mishra of Prana Ayurveda. Laurel is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and was a Fulbright Fellow in Vienna, Austria.
Laurel is currently pursuing certifications in Ayurveda, gives ayurvedic treatments, and constructs yogic programming for TriDosha's clients.
